The General Reliability team manages the overall reliability of our SaaS service and is working on projects that enable us to scale horizontally, like the Cells (WIP), scale vertically, consistently achieve compliance with our compliance frameworks, improve product performance, manage capacity, improve availability and reduce the impact of being on-call on our engineers.

About the team
The General Reliability team at GitLab mission is to Build, Run and Own the entire lifecycle of the web, API, registry sidekiq and pages services for GitLab.com.
The team is focused on owning the reliability, scalability, performance & security of the core services for GitLab.com and its supporting services. The team should be seeking to build their services on top of Foundations services and cloud vendor managed products, where appropriate, to reduce complexity, improve efficiency and deliver new capabilities quicker.
The team uses Engineering Principles to guide the decisions it makes for its services. The team does not explicitly have any self hosted product responsibilities but we should contribute the lessons we learn running the our application for GitLab at scale in production back to the Product, Development & Support teams to improve overall customer experience with GitLab, as well as collaborating with the Support teams when self managed customers encounter complex issues.
Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification. If you're excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.

We're the company behind GitLab, The DevSecOps Platform for software innovation.
What started in 2011 as an open source project to help one team of programmers collaborate is now the platform millions of people use to deliver software faster, more efficiently, while strengthening security and compliance.
Since the beginning, we've been firm believers in remote work, open source, DevOps, and iteration. We get up and log on in the morning (or whenever we choose to start our days) to work alongside the GitLab community to deliver new innovations every month that help teams focus on shipping great code faster, not their toolchain.
