Head of Developer Relations

Builder.io is revolutionizing the way teams create and manage digital experiences. Our Visual Development Platform, including our Visual CMS and AI-powered Visual Copilot, is trusted by industry leaders like JCrew, Vimeo, and Mattel. We're seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Developer Relations to lead our efforts in engaging and growing our developer community.

Role Overview

As the Head of DevRel at Builder.io, you'll be the bridge between our product team and the developer community. Your primary mission is to inspire, educate, and empower developers through high-quality content that drives new signups and fosters a vibrant ecosystem around our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy and Creation:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy focusing on AI, frontend development, and related topics.
    • Oversee the production of high-quality blog posts, videos, and social media content that resonate with developers.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure content aligns with overall business goals and drives user acquisition.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead a high-performing DevRel team, setting clear goals and KPIs.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of DevRel initiatives with company objectives.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Plan and deliver engaging workshops and speaking engagements to showcase our platform's capabilities.
    • Represent Builder.io at industry events, conferences, and meetups.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or similar roles, preferably in a B2B SaaS company.
  • 2+ years experience leading a devrel team
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in frontend development, particularly with React.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for explaining complex technical concepts.
  • Proven track record of creating engaging technical content (blog posts, videos, social media) that drives developer adoption.
  • Experience in presenting at technical events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Understanding of AI and its applications in developer tools is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and data to measure the impact of content initiatives.
  • Passion for developer tools and staying current with industry trends.

The items above are a starting point for a conversation, not a hard list of requirements. If this role excites you, we hope you will apply!

The estimated base salary for this role is $180,000 - $240,000 USD. Total compensation will include a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
