The opportunity

Our next phase of growth will see us take Pocket from a beloved product used by millions to tens and then hundreds of millions. As we embark on this growth strategy, we are looking for a proven engineering leader to dig in and help us drive scaling of our teams, processes and infrastructure.

We are well on our way and now looking to elevate our existing team and scale our infrastructure with experienced leadership.

As VP of Engineering at Pocket, you will… 

  • Build, lead, manage, and mentor a team of Engineering Leaders by cultivating a high-performing, unified team culture
  • Be a part of Mozilla’s VP-level leadership team that serves as the backbone of our operations
  • Define and own the execution for the longer term strategy for Pocket
  • Your team will engineer Pocket to meet the needs of our current business while being able to scale for future growth
  • Identify areas of investment and work alongside existing teams to develop a plan for impact
  • Lead by example, be a champion of an inclusive, collaborative, and iterative engineering culture 

What You Bring

  • 18+ years of professional experience within the software engineering industry, working across a diverse range of companies and products.
  • 8+ years of management experience, with experience managing managers, and working across multiple distributed teams.
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-traffic B2C products with millions of users in the social or content spaces
  • Experience leading teams to build new technology
  • Ability to build and execute a plan for future product development
  • Comfortable driving multiple large scale concurrent projects, and able to focus your efforts to drive towards maximal impact.
