About the Role

As the Director of Quality Engineering, you will be the architect of our modern quality strategy. Currently, our platform is scaling exponentially and your mission is to ensure our testing capabilities keep pace. You will lead a global team of Quality Engineering professionals, transforming them into a lean, high-output function that enables the engineering organization to ship code continuously with total confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Evolution: Scale and harden our existing testing framework into a robust, enterprise-grade automated testing suite.
  • Performance & Reliability: Build performance and load-testing capabilities to ensure the platform scales ahead of customer demand.
  • Tooling Integration: Actively evaluate and implement modern quality tools for test suite management, accelerate authoring, and automate maintenance of E2E suites.
  • Velocity Enablement: Identify where quality checks act as bottlenecks and re-engineer the CI/CD pipeline to ensure safety doesn't come at the expense of speed.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Upskill a team of engineers to focus on automated system validation, performance engineering, and proactive risk mitigation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven Transformation: 8+ years in Quality Engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role with a track record of building technical functions from scratch or transforming existing teams into high-output, automation-first organizations.
  • Quality Leadership: Lead the adoption of modern quality practices at every stage of the development lifecycle, leveraging embedded resources and providing the necessary tools and training to achieve excellence.
  • Performance Expertise: Experience establishing performance/stress testing protocols for microservices-based architectures.
  • Modern Toolchain: Expert-level understanding of modern test automation pipelines, tools and frameworks in cloud-native SaaS environments.
  • AI Literacy: A forward-looking approach to quality, with a clear perspective on how to leverage LLMs and AI to accelerate test coverage and maintenance.
  • Business Alignment: Ability to translate technical quality metrics into business risk and product confidence.
