We are looking for a hands-on Staff Engineer to join the team building SecureChain, one of TuxCare's newer security products focused on open-source software supply chain security.
SecureChain helps companies use open-source dependencies more safely by providing packages rebuilt from verified source code, scanned for malware and supply chain risks, and continuously patched as new vulnerabilities are discovered.
The product supports multiple software ecosystems, including Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, Rust, and PHP.
As SecureChain is still relatively new, this role offers significant scope to shape the product and its technical direction. You will have the opportunity to build systems from the ground up, make architectural decisions, improve automation, and lead substantial areas of the product through their full lifecycle.
The role combines deep technical execution with technical product ownership and is approximately 70% hands-on software engineering and 30% technical product ownership.
You will lead significant product components and workstreams end-to-end: clarifying requirements with stakeholders, defining milestones, designing solutions, contributing production code, delivering functionality to customers, and ensuring its continued reliability in production.
This is an individual contributor role, not a people-management position. We are looking for someone who can operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and drive complex initiatives forward without relying on a manager to define every next step.
As the product and priorities evolve, curiosity, adaptability, and a broad interest in cybersecurity will be important for success in this role.
