We have built a world-class product that solves the most complex collaboration challenges for mission-critical organizations, and are now looking for a Senior Outbound Product Manager who will unlock our next order of magnitude in growth. 

In this role, you will translate technical engineering solutions into high-fidelity, market-ready narratives that resonate with the world's most mission-critical buyers across defense, intelligence, security, and critical infrastructure. By bridging the gap between high-level summaries and deep-dive technical value, you will become the primary catalyst for our revenue engine reducing sales cycles, accelerating win rates, and empowering our channel partners to sell at scale.

In this role, you have a rare chance to build the blueprint for how the product is articulated and demonstrated to the market, with direct access to senior leadership, co-founders, and external market leaders.

Core Responsibilitie

  • Product Messaging and Positioning: Develop and iterate on product value articulation aligned to defined ICPs and market strategy that connects with enterprise and national security audiences, including champions, economic buyers, implementation partners, and internal audiences.
  • Market Narrative & Technical Storytelling: Define and deliver the product story within the broader Mattermost narrative, in partnership with Marketing. You’ll take complex technical themes such as ABAC, E2E encryption, or identity management, and turn them into compelling, high-stakes narratives for the world’s most mission-critical buyers.
  • Sales & Partner Collateral: Own the creation of high quality demo videos, roadmap announcements, technical data sheets, use case specific-messaging and positioning, presentations, and press release content - in close partnership with Marketing, which owns final external publication - that empower sales and channel partners in effectively selling our product suite.
  • Market Insights: Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence to inform product strategy and positioning.
  • Sales Enablement: Create and deliver sales enablement materials, including playbooks, battle cards, customer case studies, and product presentations, including articulating our pricing, packaging, and true-up models such that sales and channel partners can move at high velocity.
  • Front-Line Field Engagement: Spend 30% of your time in the field, leading high-impact demos at customer sites and representing Mattermost at key industry events. You are the face of the product, capturing the customer intelligence that will directly shape our future roadmap. Partner closely with Marketing and Revenue teams to ensure field insights are shared and incorporated into broader GTM strategy.
  • AI-Powered Execution: Work with high autonomy that leverages an AI-first workflow to prototype, draft, and iterate on new assets.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in Product Management, Technical Product Marketing, or Sales Engineering, preferably in high-growth Cybersecurity, GovTech, or Enterprise SaaS.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional ability to present and write about complex technical topics. You must be able to explain not just what a feature is, but why it wins in a competitive landscape, and why should the market care.
  • Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of government and enterprise software sales motions, including pricing strategies, packaging, and the mechanics of channel enablement.
  • Technical Literacy: Fluency with the developer/DevOps ecosystem, security protocols (e.g. ABAC, encryption), and the ability to work alongside engineering to "productize" demo environments in partnership with Marketing.
  • Execution-First: A proven track record of independently shipping high-quality sales enablement collateral and product announcements.
  • Security & Certifications: Professional cybersecurity credentials such as CISSP are highly valued and considered an asset for this role.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility: 
    • This role may require the candidate to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance in the future. As such, applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
    • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-controlled information as defined by U.S. export control laws, including EAR and ITAR.

Compensation:

Mattermost takes a market-based approach to pay. Actual compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. U.S. locations are categorized into one of three zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.

    • Zone A: 187,456 - 253,617
    • Zone B: 178,083 - 240,936
    • Zone C: 168,710 - 228,255

These ranges may be updated in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and work location.
